Thankful for another memorable weekend spent with my husband and the kids ♥ Saturday, I got to attend my first Air Show (Ella and Emmett’s first too!) and it was amazing! We got to watch the Thunderbird’s show, and I was just in awe watching the skills of these fighter pilots. I couldn’t believe they were flying only a few feet away from each other! And I was also amazed at how close they got to us. But the craziest part was how loud they were! When some of them got pretty close to the ground, the sound was overwhelmingly loud, like the kind that you feel in your chest and tickles your ears.
The day before, while we were getting ready to go meet Drew on base, we could hear the jets practicing over our apartment. Whenever Ella and Emmett would hear one they would run to the window with excitement and Ella would say “Mom, a plane!” Instead of thinking about how much louder they were going to be outside, I was just thinking about how much they were going to love all the “planes” they were going to see that next day. Oopsie on my part, mommy should have thought to bring some ear plugs. Thank goodness a lady came up to my husband who was holding Emmett and gave us a pair at the beginning of the show. For Ella, daddy ended up covering her ears. :)
We didn’t end up staying for the whole show for the kiddos sake, but we did get to see part of a pretty cool routine. It was interesting holding Emmett with one arm and trying to adjust the zoom and settings and snapping photos with the other hand, but I was able to get a few thankfully :)
Sunday was relaxing and with beautiful weather we took to the beach. If you follow my instagram, you know that one of our favorite things to do so far in this city is go to the beach. The kids absolutely love playing in the sand. Something that we didn’t get to do too much back in my hometown, because the only time we could comfortably go play on the beach was in the summer and even then there were a lot of cool days. Though we are only here for 3 months, I am so happy and grateful to have an opportunity to live somewhere warm year round. And even happier to announce that we will be moving to San Antonio, Texas this June as my husband will be stationed there for the next 3-4 years! We kind of laugh because we’ve talked about moving to Texas years ago. Now here we are, didn’t think it would actually happen and never would have guessed the reason for it happening either. Sometimes I feel like, “What, we’re actually doing this?” It’s crazy the way God works in your life and directs your path, you never know where you may end up, but you know you’re in good hands.
