3 years ago today, I walked down the aisle on a sandy beach. As I was anxiously making my way toward my soon-to-be husband, I remember the moment watching him with so much joy and happy tears in his eyes. And me, trying to hold back the flood gates so I didn’t have mascara running down my face. It was one of the most beautiful perfect moments of my life. The sun was shining down on us and the breeze off the lake gently brushed our faces as we promised to love one another for the rest of our lives. For better or for worse, through all of life’s ups and downs, to never leave each other’s side until the day we die. I am so grateful to have married a man who holds true to those promises and shows his love for me each and every day. I didn’t think we could love each other anymore than we did on our wedding day, but I was so wrong. The love grows and grows with each passing day. Yes there will always be those rough patches along the way, but I have found those times have brought us closer than ever before. Marriage is a gift, it can be difficult and messy at times, but it is the most beautiful, rewarding, and priceless thing you could ever experience.
The other night, my husband and I were watching netflix, obnoxiously eating these huge pieces of watermelon, and just being goofy together because we were up way too late. And suddenly his face grew tender and he looked at me and said “I love you. I love that I married my best friend. I was 15 when I fell in love with you. We grew up together.” As tears built in our eyes, he said “We get to figure out life together. And look at how far we’ve come.”
And now with happy tears in my eyes I write this. Happy Anniversary my love. Thank you for making them so special. May God bless us with many many more.
So thankful for Taylor J Photography for capturing our love in photos for our Anniversary during our day date to Pensacola. She’s the sweetest and actually donated the time and money on our session to a ministry very dear to her heart, Delight Ministries. Thank you again Taylor, our session was so fun and relaxed. My husband and I had such a good time we forgot we were even taking photos half the time ;) Check out her work!
